I couldn't find the original data file so I exported table from Arcmap.
The attached Excel file contains RFG/OXY usage by county for the NE. I
hope that you can use an existing county coverage and join this table to
it by FIPS code. If not, let me know and we can try something else. A
county that I am calling "RFG" would be any one that has the fields RFG or
OXY > 0.

One additional thing: Connecticut is not included in this table for some
reason. However, it should be RFG for the whole state.

Sorry this is so complex. Let me know what else you need.

Mike

Hi Mike.

I am not able to use just the layer file by itself. If you could send me
the table showing rfg status of the county, I think that would be helpful.

Terri:

As for the RFG coverage, the one I have is a coverage of counties jointed
to a data table that indicates the RFG status of the county. The I simply
selected the counties that have high RFG use from the joined table in
Arcmap. Does this make any sense?

I'm not sure how to convert this to something you can use. I was able to
save the coverage as a layer file. Would this work? I'm attaching the
layer just in case. Let me know if this doesn't work and we need to do
something else.

Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the files. You don't have to make the shape files, I can work
with what you've given me. I'll start working on it right now.

PWSs in NE

Terri:

Here is the Excel file with all of the data -> pa.xlsx. The first
worksheet, titled Systems, contains the actual data with lat/longs for all
systems. The last worksheet is a summary of the systems by each principal
aquifer. I have highlighted the aquifers where we need to select a random
subset of systems.

Just a little background for you -- I am trying to examine trends in MTBE
in drinking water in the NE. The data I have is for 6 States in the NE
(CT, ME, NH, NJ, MD, RI) and is MTBE in finished drinking water. The idea
here is to examine a subset of one-well systems in principal aquifers for
information on sources of MTBE, treatment, and other detailed ancillary
data that will help us better understand trends, if any are present.

I forgot to mention to you on the phone that I would also like to stratify
the selection process by RFG use area. This is a binary in/out type code
and is shown as the last column in the Systems worksheet. Can you do
something like this?

Lastly, I am attaching a zip file of pictures of the locations of the
systems in relation to the principal aquifer and State. I guess these are
just gif files and not shape files. I think I can make shape files if
these would be helpful to you. Just let me know.

Thanks for your help!

Mike
